The Russian Defense Ministry reported that today's strikes on Ukraine were a response to terrorist attacks in the Bryansk region. The department called the shelling itself a massive retaliation strike.

The European Union says it deems Russia's 'stop list' for 89 EU politicians as "totally arbitrary" and doesn't discriminate between commissioners and other European officials who have been denied entry to Russia, according to Maja Kocijancic, the spokesperson for EU Foreign Affairs and Security Policy led by HRVP Federica Mogherini.

Two Israeli soldiers have been killed by a Hezbollah missile fired at at an Israeli military vehicle in the Shebaa farms are on the border with Syria and Lebanon.
The Israeli military confirmed that seven soldiers were also injured in Wednesday's strike.

Israel on alert for possible Hezbollah retaliation to Golan Heights missile strike

Israeli military officials are on high alert Monday in response to Hezbollah threats to respond to Sunday’s IAF helicopter attack on a convoy which killed at least six senior operatives on the Syrian side of the Golan Heights.

In an interview with Army Radio, Maj. Gen. (res.) Amos Yadlin, the former head of Military Intelligence, said that the Shi’ite group “will have difficulty absorbing an incident like this [without responding].”
