Two Indian paramilitary personnel, a policeman and a militant were killed in southern Jammu-Kashmir Saturday when a major police base came under attack, an Indian army officer told local media.
The incident took place in Pulwama district, located some 26 kilometers (16 miles) to the south of capital Srinagar, where militants stormed the District Police Lines.
"Two terrorists entered the District Police Lines in Pulwama. We lost a Jammu-Kashmir police constable and two CRPF [Central Reserve Police Force] personnel," Indian army’s Lt. Gen. J. S. Sandhu told the media, according to news agency ANI.
