Iraqi government, Kurds agree to temporary ceasefire northwest of Mosul

The Iraqi government forces and Kurdistan's Peshmerga forces have agreed to a temporary ceasefire in a town located northwest of the northern city of Mosul, following nearly two weeks of fighting, a security official told EFE on Friday.


Brig. Gen. Abdul-Rahman al-Jazaelli said a federal government delegation arrived Thursday evening in Zumar district in the northern province of Dohuk, where it spoke of a temporary ceasefire with Kurdish military leaders.
