Курды сбили турецкий военный вертолет
На юго-востоке Турции на границе с Сирией потерпел крушение вертолет Военно-воздушных сил Турции. Как сообщил президент страны Реджеп Тайип Эрдоган, боевая машина принимала участие в операции "Оливковая ветвь" в сирийском районе Африн и была сбита курдами.

Как пояснил Эрдоган, военный вертолет был сбит в субботу в провинции Хатай. О судьбе экипажа президент ничего не сообщил.

 "Они заплатят за это сполна", — подчеркнул турецкий лидер.

    Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed the downing of the helicopter, according to Turkish media. "A little earlier, one of our helicopters was shot down," he told reporters, adding that those who are responsible for the incident would pay a "heavier price."

    The president, however, did not specify who was responsible for the attack.

  3. Two Turkish Armed Forces personnel were killed when an attack helicopter crashed in northwestern Syria’s Afrin during the ongoing Operation Olive Branch on Feb. 10, Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım said.

    Talking to reporters in western Muğla province, Yıldırımm said: "Unfortunately, one of our two ATAK helicopters on a mission in Afrin region has crashed. Two heroic members of Turkish Armed Forces were martyred."

    Yıldırım said it remains “unclear" why the helicopter went down and added that an investigation had been launched.

    In a statement, Turkish General Staff said one of the ATAK helicopter crashed at around 1 p.m. (1000GMT) during ongoing operation in Afrin.
