Scotland's Sturgeon attacks May's Brexit plans, acknowledges SNP losses

Scotland's pro-independence first minister called on the United Kingdom's prime minister to abandon her pursuit of a so-called hard Brexit following a general election that bore no majority winner on Friday.

In her speech, given at the official Bute House residence in Edinburgh, Nicola Sturgeon of the Scottish National Party took aim at UK Prime Minister Theresa May's Conservative Party, which lost its parliamentary majority in a snap election called by May herself.
