Syria: Over 160 Civilians Killed, Wounded in US-Led Coalition Airstrikes in Raqqa in 5 Days

Over 60 civilians have been killed and 100 more wounded in the US-led coalition air raids in Raqqa in the last five days, Arab media outlets reported on Monday.

The Arabic language al-Hadath news website reported that at least 66 civilians, including several children, have been killed and 100 others injured in the US-led coalition warplanes' attacks on Raqqa city and its countryside in the last five days.

The Syrian state news agency confirmed on Sunday that six civilians were killed in coalition airstrikes on the ISIL-held city a day earlier.

Fighter jets of the US-led coalition carried out several airstrikes on al-Omran region in Raqqa on Saturday, the state news agency reported, citing its own unnamed local sources.

According to the news agency’s sources in Raqqa province, at least six people, including two women and two children, lost their lives in the airstrikes, while several others were injured.

On Wednesday, the fighter jets pounded a school in al-Mansoureh city West of Raqqa city that hosts 50 displaced families.

SANA quoted the local sources as saying that the US airplanes attacked al-Badiyeh al-Dakheliyeh school, 30km away from Raqqa city, which hosts 50 displaced families from Aleppo, Raqqa and Tadmur.

The airstrikes destroyed the school completely but the number of casualties was not announced.
