Russia has no intention to cooperate with OPCW team on Douma incident — Foreign Ministry

Russia has no intention in principle to cooperation with the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons Investigation and Identification Team (IIT) working on the chemical incident in the Syrian city of Douma, as Moscow considers this body illegitimate, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on the another IIT report on the incident, which happened on April 7, 2018.

"In regards to the accusations, contained in the report, that we have not provided any information to the IIT that could have supported the Russian version about a chemical provocation, Russia, just like a number of other states, considers this body illegitimate and, as it has been repeatedly stated, has no intention to cooperate with it out of principal considerations," the statement says.
