- Der griechische Staatspräsident Karolos Papoulias hat Bundesfinanzminister Wolfgang Schäuble ungewöhnlich scharf angegriffen. Der 82-Jährige empörte sich nach Presseberichten über jüngste Äußerungen Schäubles in der Griechenland-Krise. "Ich akzeptiere es als Grieche nicht, dass mein Land von Herrn Schäuble beleidigt wird", polterte Papoulias. "Wer ist denn Herr Schäuble, der Griechenland beleidigen kann. Wer sind denn die Niederländer, wer sind die Finnen?"

Das Staatsoberhaupt empörte sich über die jüngsten Vorschläge der Bundesregierung über die mögliche Einsetzung eines Sparkommissars in Griechenland. Seine Äußerungen fielen inoffiziell am Mittwoch während eines Mittagessens im Athener Verteidigungsministerium und wurden in ihrem Wortlaut am Donnerstag in der griechischen Presse veröffentlicht.

2. "Who is Mr. Schäuble who is ridiculing Greece"?
- In an unprecedented outburst, President Karolos Papoulias attacked the Germans, the Dutch and the Finns who are behaving not as partners but as nothing more than brutal lenders who want to take Greece to the mat.
- “I do not accept that my country is mocked by Mr. Schäuble. I cannot accept this as a Greek! Who is Mr. Schäuble who can ridicule my country? Who are the Dutch? Who are the Finns? Preceding this were statements by the German Finance Minister, which showed a clear interference in the politics of our country, especially concerning the prospect of holding elections.
The reports of the President on the maneuvers and tactics of the German side, and especially the German Minister of Economics Wolfgang Schäuble, is sure to cause headaches in Berlin. This is because Mr. Papoulias is a person of Germanic education and a politician who rarely explodes, and he chose specific phrases to denounce the attitude of the Germans towards Greece.

The “explosion” of the President comes a few hours after he had indicated that he is foregoing the remuneration arising from his office for the good of the country.

3. Δεν δέχομαι να λοιδορεί την πατρίδα μου ο Σόιμπλε, είπε ο Κάρολος Παπούλιας
- «Δεν δέχομαι να λοιδορεί την πατρίδα μου ο κ. Σόιμπλε. Ποιος είναι ο κύριος Σόιμπλε;» διερωτήθηκε ο Πρόεδρος της Δημοκρατίας, Κάρολος Παπούλιας, κατά τη διάρκεια γεύματος στο υπουργείο Εθνικής Άμυνας, αντιδρώντας στις πιέσεις που ασκούν Ευρωπαίοι αξιωματούχοι προς την Ελλάδα.
- «Όλοι έχουμε χρέος να βάλουμε πλάτη για να περάσουμε την κρίση. Δεν δέχομαι να λοιδορείται η πατρίδα μου από τον Σόιμπλε, δεν το δέχομαι σαν Έλληνας. Ποιος είναι ο κύριος Σόιμπλε που μπορεί να λοιδορήσει την Ελλάδα; Ποιοι είναι οι Ολλανδοί; Ποιοι είναι οι Φιλανδοί; Εμείς πάντοτε είχαμε την υπερηφάνεια να υπερασπιστούμε όχι μονο τη δικιά μας ελευθερία, όχι μονάχα τη δικιά μας πατρίδα, αλλά την ελευθερία της Ευρώπης.», τόνισε ο πρόεδρος της Δημοκρατίας.
- Και πρόσθεσε: «Δεν θα επικαλεστώ τα κοινότυπα του Τσώρτσιλ για την ηρωική αντίσταση των Ελλήνων. Τα ξέρουμε εμείς, τα ξέρουν οι παππούδες μας, τα ξέρουν οι πατεράδες μας. Ο παππούς μου ήταν ο πρώτος υπαξιωματικός τραυματίας στη μάχη των Βουκολιών στην Κρήτη, όταν πήγαν για να απελευθερώσουν την Κρήτη». ......etc...... tanea gr
