A military statement said it lost contact with the F-16 jet over a mountainous area in Osmaniye province, about 30 miles from the border with Syria. The plane had taken off from a base in northern Amasya province, some 450 kilometers (280 miles) away.
The statement said the pilot was lost shortly after he radioed in: "I'm going to jump. Turkey's NTV television said the pilot ejected safely from the plane. There was no confirmation of that report.
A search-and-rescue operation was launched, the statement said. The Anadolu news agency reported that the military plane had crashed.---

Osmaniye Governor Celalettin Cerrah said they found cockpit window and some pieces of the military plane which crashed in the southern province of Osmaniye earlier on Monday.
Cerrah told AA that search and rescue teams which were sent to the region found cockpit window and some pieces of the military plane in Caksir plateau.
Efforts are under way to find the pilot, he added.
Earlier in the day, General Staff said radio contact was lost with an F-16 warplane flying over Osmaniye moments after the pilot radioed he was bailing out.

ReplyDeleteΈνα τουρκικό μαχητικό F-16 μαχητικό συνετρίβη στην επαρχία Οσμανίγιε, σε απόσταση 40 χλμ. από τα σύνορα της Συρίας.
Το τελευταίο που είπε ο πιλότος στις υπηρεσίες εδάφους ήταν ότι θα χρησιμοποιήσει το σύστημα εκτόξευσης. Στην πιθανή τοποθεσία της πτώσης του αεροσκάφους κατευθύνονται ειδικοί του στρατού και αστυνομία. Σύμφωνα με τις πρώτες πληροφορίες το ατύχημα οφείλεται σε τεχνική βλάβη. Το μαχητικό F-16 εκτελούσε πτήση πάνω από την οροσειρά Νουρ.

ReplyDeleteNeuer Zwischenfall nahe der türkisch-syrischen Grenze. Ein F-16-Kampfjet des türkischen Militärs ist im Südosten des Landes abgestürzt. Der Pilot konnte abspringen, wird aber vermisst. Dichter Nebel erschwert die Suche. Die Armee geht offenbar von einem Unfall aus.
Ankara/Hamburg - Um 13.15 Uhr MEZ setzte der Pilot seinen letzten Funkspruch ab: "Ich steige aus", sagte er der Kommandozentrale, dann riss der Kontakt ab. Etwa 50 Kilometer von der Grenze zu Syrien entfernt, stürzte der F-16-Kampfjet der türkischen Luftwaffe ab. Cerrah told AA that search and rescue teams have found the body of the pilot after his plane crashed near Caksir plateau.
Pilot's body was brought in Osmaniye, said Cerrah.

General Staff offers condolences over death of pilot after F-16 plane crash
Chief of General Staff offered condolences after lieutenant Hamza Gumussoy was killed when his F-16/C plane crashed near Amanos Mountains region on Monday.
General Staff stated that the body of Gumussoy as well as the wreck were found after the plane crashed at around 2:15 p.m. in Amanos region today.
The reason of the crash would be determined after an investigation was completed, added the General Staff.

Im Krieg um die Macht in Syrien gerät die dubiose Rolle der türkischen Sicherheitsbehörden immer stärker ins Blickfeld. So beruht der Bundeswehr-Einsatz in der Türkei zum Schutz vor Angriffen aus Syrien nach Einschätzung der Linkspartei in Deutschland auf Fehlinformationen der türkischen Behörden. Er müsse deshalb sofort beendet werden.
Die Türkei hatte ihre Bedrohung mit dem vermeintlichen Abschuss eines türkischen Aufklärungsflugzeuges über internationalen Gewässern im Juni 2012 begründet. Diese Darstellung wird von unabhängigen Experten angezweifelt. So verweist die International Crisis Group darauf, dass keine Spuren von Raketenbeschuss am Wrack des veralteten F4-Phantom-Jets gefunden wurden.
