"Après avoir souligné l'importance du règlement pacifique de la situation, le secrétaire général de l'ONU a appelé toutes les parties à faire preuve d'un maximum de retenue et à trouver une issue à la crise via un dialogue. A cet effet, Ban Ki-moon s'est déclaré prêt à envoyer en Ukraine un représentant spécial de l'ONU chargé de prendre part à un tel dialogue", lit-on dans le communiqué.
Lors de l'entretien, M. Ianoukovitch a également souligné qu'il était très important de poursuivre les négociations engagées entre les autorités et l'opposition en vue de trouver une solution optimale à la crise politique.
Le 16 janvier, la Rada Suprême (parlement ukrainien) a adopté des lois durcissant les sanctions pour les violations commises lors des rassemblements publics. Ces lois, jugées "liberticides" par l'opposition, ont provoqué des troubles au centre de la capitale ukrainienne, faisant trois morts, selon des sources officielles.
Les manifestants réclament la démission du gouvernement et la reprise du processus de rapprochement entre l'Ukraine et l'Union européenne.
Samedi dernier, le président ukrainien Viktor Ianoukovitch a proposé le poste de premier ministre à l'un des leaders de l'opposition, Arseni Iatseniouk, un proche de l'ex-première ministre Ioulia Timochenko.

ReplyDeleteUN-Generalsekretär Ban Ki-moon will einen UN-Sondergesandten in die krisengeschüttelte Ukraine schicken, der zur Beendigung der Rivalität in der Ex-Sowjetrepublik beitragen soll.
Ban habe den Einsatz in einem Telefongespräch mit dem ukrainischen Präsidenten Viktor Janukowitsch vorgeschlagen, hieß es in einer am Montag auf Janukowitschs Internetseite veröffentlichten Mitteilung. Das Ziel der Mission sei die Anbahnung eines Dialogs zwischen den ukrainischen Behörden und der Opposition.
„Der Generalsekretär hob die große Bedeutung der friedlichen Beilegung der Krise hervor. Er rief die rivalisierenden Seiten auf, maximale Ausdauer an den Tag zu legen und die Aufnahme eines Dialogs zu ermöglichen.“ Auch Janukowitsch habe für die Fortsetzung des Dialogs zur Suche nach optimalem Ausweg aus der politischen Krise plädiert, hieß es in der Mitteilung.

Ban presses Ukraine leader to start talks on crisis ...
ReplyDeleteUN leader Ban Ki-moon on Monday pressed Ukraine's President Viktor Yanukovych to start a "constructive dialogue" with the opposition to end the country's deadly unrest. UN spokesman Martin Nesirky said Ban highlighted his "grave concern" over the Ukraine crisis in a telephone conversation with Yanukovych.
The two spoke as radicals seized the justice ministry in Kiev heightening tensions that erupted when the president rejected a deal to get closer to the European Union.
Ban, who is at a Latin American summit in Havana, called at the weekend for "meaningful, sustained and inclusive dialogue by all parties in order to find a solution to the crisis and prevent further bloodshed."
"He encouraged the president to lead the way to a constructive dialogue process to help resolve the crisis in his country peacefully and through compromise," said Nesirky.
Yanukovych has started negotiations with the opposition but Justice Minister Olena Lukash, who is taking part in the meetings, said she would ask for the talks to be broken off if the building was not freed.

Ukrainian PM resigns as government moves to scrap anti-protest laws....
ReplyDeleteUkrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov resigned on Jan. 28 in a bid to ease Ukraine's deadly two-month crisis as lawmakers debated key reforms.
"I have taken a personal decision to ask the president of Ukraine to accept my resignation from the post of prime minister with the aim of creating an additional possibility for a political compromise to peacefully resolve the conflict," he said in a statement.
The development came as Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych on Jan. 27 agreed to scrap anti-protest laws.
