Ukrainian FM urges OSCE to 'end Russian occupation'. -Turkey says it does not recognize the results of the Crimean referendum nor their implications.

VIENNA. -Ukraine's Acting Foreign Minister Andrii Deshchystsia has called on the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) to end the "Russian occupation" of his country.

Speaking at a meeting in Vienna of the Permanent Council of the OSCE on Thursday, Deshchystsia said Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty had been violated by Russia's action, which he said was a violation of OSCE Agreements and all UN Security Council resolutions.
“This is a sincerity test of all OSCE member countries who have signed the founding philosophy of the OSCE and all of its agreements so far. We expect them to remain loyal to the principles and agreements of the organization,” he said.

Deshchystsia said he expected the OSCE to send an observer mission to Ukraine despite the Russian Federation's opposition and three previous blockades of such an operation.

Turkey's Permanent Representative to the OSCE, Ambassador Tacan Ildem, said that a peaceful solution based on that sovereignty and political and territorial integrity of Ukraine should be found.
  • Ildem said “Being a neighboring country and a strategic partner of Ukraine, Turkey has to approach this issue in the perspective of the importance it gives to Crimean Tatars.

  • “Turkey does not recognize the results of the Crimean referendum and the implications stemming from the results.”
