BELGRADE - The latest Medium Gallup opinion poll, which shows that 55
percent of Serbian citizens are in favour of the country's EU
membership, will be presented in Belgrade on Friday.
According to the poll, conducted in February this year, 56 percent of the pollees believe that EU membership will bring bigger investments, 54 expect better environmental protection, with 50 percent expecting improved rule of law.
Two thirds of citizens - 67 percent - believe that agriculture tops the list of sectors that should receive EU assistance, the poll results say.
The poll is based on a national representative sample of 1,239 people, and also offers insight into the level of support for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue and an overview of the level of the citizens' awareness about the amount of EU funds provided to Serbia.
