Russia has submitted a revised draft resolution on Ukraine to the UN Security Council, TASS cites Russia's high-ranking diplomat has as saying.
The document includes references that prove the Security Council's commitment to Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Alexander Lukashevich said on Thursday.
Russia calls on the UN Security Council members to support Russia’s draft resolution on Ukraine and prove the commitment to the resolution of the crisis, he said.
“Amid escalating the armed conflict and the serious humanitarian situation in Ukraine’s southeast Russia submitted the revised draft resolution on Ukraine to the UN Security Council on June 16. Our initiative is aimed at immediately terminating violence that lead to numerous losses of lives. Women, children and old men mostly affect the consequences of the conflict. The provisions of our draft resolution are related to political and humanitarian aspects,” Lukashevich said.
“We took into account the comments by many members of the UN Security Council. We made certain amendments to the activity of the OSCE, including references on the UN Security Council’s commitment to Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” he said.
“We stress the need to immediately terminate the armed actions and organize humanitarian corridors for the safe evacuation of civilians and the delivery of humanitarian aid,” he said.
Russia expresses bewilderment over the West’s different attempts to hamper the work on the Russian draft resolution, Lukashevich said.
