US President Barack Obama and German Chancellor Angela Merkel held a telephone conversation late Friday and stated that Russia should withdraw the convoy from Ukraine and accept the terms previously agreed with Kiev and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

ReplyDeleteAround 200 trucks in a disputed Russian aid convoy destined for rebel-held eastern Ukraine have returned to Russia.
It remained unclear Saturday what material the Russian convoy was carrying.
Associated Press journalists who followed the convoy to Luhansk on Friday said rattling sounds from some trailers suggested they were not fully loaded.
On Friday, White House officials said Russia's unauthorized movement of the humanitarian truck convoy into Ukraine is a flagrant violation of Ukraine's sovereignty.
U.S. Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes had said Russia must remove the convoy from eastern Ukraine or face consequences. He said the United States plans to discuss the situation at the U.N.
