UNITED NATIONS, August 8 (Itar-Tass) - All United Nations international
agencies are ready to cooperate with Russia in delivering relief aid to
Eastern Ukraine, Russia’s Permanent Ambassador to the United Nations
Vitaly Churkin told Itar-Tass on Friday.
Churkin discussed a possibility of sending relief convoys to Eastern Ukraine with U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon last Thursday. He received the approval from Jan Eliasson, the U.N. deputy secretary-general, on Friday.
"They understand that the relief aid is necessary and are ready to cooperate with us to deliver that aid,” Churkin added.
Meanwhile, Churkin told a meeting of the United Nations Security Council that the United Nations repot on the human rights situation in Ukraine was an example of “elegant political eloquence” adjusted to fulfill a certain political order.
