Greek Police strongly rejected on Saturday a Greek media report that militants had been trained in Greece as pilots.
Greek television channel Antenna citing sources in Greek intelligence service said Greek police were investigating a company in the Athens suburb of Markopoulo which since 2010 has issued about 800 fake pilot and airplane mechanic certificates to Greeks and foreign nationals of African and Asian origin.
According to the report, Greek authorities launched the investigation in February 2014 after receiving a tip from the US secret services.
According to the official Greek police press statement, the company was indeed placed under investigation for irregularities in the issuance of certificates in exams taking place in Greece and abroad.
The firm's license has been suspended, but "no proof or indications of training of jihadists or of their participation in such exams was found."
