Η ανακοίνωση έρχεται μια ημέρα μετά τη δήλωση του Αμερικανού υπουργού Εξωτερικών Τζον Κέρι ότι οι ΗΠΑ θα υποδεχθούν επιπλέον Σύρους πρόσφυγες στο έδαφός τους, με την οποία διαφοροποιείται η μέχρι πρότινος θέση της Ουάσιγκτον που παρέμενε αμετακίνητη στον αριθμό των 1.500 Σύρων προσφύγων που έχει υποδεχθεί από το 2011.

ReplyDelete"The president has directed his team to scale up that number [of refugees] next year and he's informed his team that he would like them to accept, at least make preparations to accept at least 10,000 Syrian refuges in the next fiscal year," Earnest said.
Earnest added that Washington was on track to bring in some 1,500 Syrian refugees by the current fiscal year's end this month.

Les Etats-Unis ont accueilli environ 1.500 réfugiés sur l'année fiscale qui s'achève fin septembre, et M. Obama a demandé à son équipe "d'augmenter ce chiffre et d'accepter au moins 10.000 réfugiés lors de la prochaine année fiscale", a déclaré Josh Earnest, son porte-parole. (Belga)
