Sixty-two people died at the scene of the blasts and 24 more then succumbed to their wounds in hospital, Health Minister Mehmet Muezzinoglu told reporters in Ankara. He said that 186 people were wounded.
The Turkish government suspects that the explosions were part of a "terrorist" attack, an official said.
"We suspect that there is a terrorist connection," a government official told AFP, asking not to be named.
Turkish police on Saturday fired in the air to disperse protesters from the scene of an attack, an AFP correspondent said.
Demonstrators angered by the attack on their fellow activists shouted "police murderers!" but were then dispersed as the security forces intervened.
Eyewitnesses told AFP several corpses were seen lying on the ground while NTV television and the Dogan news agency said at least 20 people were killed. Some 100 people were wounded, NTV added.
The area was to have hosted an anti-government peace rally organised by leftist groups later in the day, including the pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP).

ReplyDeleteAu moins 86 personnes ont été tuées samedi matin lors d'une double explosion probablement due à un attentat qui a visé à Ankara des militants de l'opposition venus participer à un rassemblement pour la paix à trois semaines des législatives. Plus d'une centaine de personnes ont également été blessées par cette double déflagration survenue devant la principale gare d'Ankara, où se rassemblaient les délégations de syndicats et de partis politiques de gauche, dont le principal parti prokurde, venues de toute la Turquie pour cette manifestation.
Les autorités turques ont rapidement évoqué l'hypothèse d'un attentat. "Nous maudissons et condamnons cette attaque atroce qui a visé notre démocratie et la paix dans notre paix", a déclaré le ministère dans un communiqué sur son site internet. "Nous soupçonnons qu'il existe un lien terroriste", a confirmé sous couvert de l'anonymat à l'AFP un responsable gouvernemental. Abgerissene Körperteile liegen auf der Straße, Fahnen und Transparente bedecken die Leichen von Menschen, die beim schlimmsten Anschlag der türkischen Geschichte getötet worden sind. Mutmaßliche Selbstmordattentäter haben mit ihren Sprengsätzen mindestens 86 Menschen mit in den Tod gerissen. Mehr als 180 Menschen wurden zum Teil schwer verletzt. ReplyDeleteLas cifras fueron adelantadas por el ministro de Salud turco, Mehmet Muezzinoglu, en una rueda de prensa transmitida en directo por la cadena de noticias NTV.
Con anterioridad, el fiscal jefe de la ciudad, Harun Kodalak, al diario Hurriyet, había establecido el número de muertos en 47, aunque ya admitió que muchos de los heridos se encontraban muy graves.
La cifra podría seguir aumentando debido a que 28 de los 186 heridos se encuentran en grave estado.
Dos explosiones casi simultáneas, según testigos citados por medios locales causadas por atacantes suicidas, convirtieron hoy una marcha por la paz en Turquía en un escenario de guerra en el centro de la capital turca.......telam.com.ar

Some 18 people were under surgery as 28 others were in intensive care, the minister had said six chours after the attack. However, the toll rose to
9 policemen were injured slightly.

ReplyDeleteLe double attentat suicide d'Ankara, le plus meurtrier jamais commis sur le sol de la Turquie, a fait au moins 97 morts, selon un nouveau bilan rendu public dimanche soir par les services du Premier ministre Ahmet Davutoglu.
Les autopsies ont permis d'identifier 95 de ces 97 victimes, parmi lesquelles figure un ressortissant palestinien, a précisé la déclaration publiée sur le site internet des de M. Davutoglu.
L'enquête dirigée par le procureur d'Ankara a par ailleurs permis d'établir que les deux kamikazes à l'origine de la déflagration qui a visé samedi matin une manifestation de l'opposition favorable à la cause kurde devant la gare centrale d'Ankara étaient des hommes. L'identification des deux hommes était toujours en cours, selon ce texte.
