Telling the Untold: Vladimir Putin Reveals How He Makes Decisions

In an interview with journalist Vladimir Solovyov in the documentary “World Order,” which appeared on “Rossiya-1” TV channel, the Russian President, said that every decision has to be calibrated.

Emotions during accidents are inevitable, but they should not influence governmental decision-making, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

“Emotions are inevitable, but they should not influence the quality of decisions because these decisions are in the interests of millions of people, millions of Russian citizens,” Putin said, answering the question of how the decision making process is influenced by such catastrophes as, for example, the attack on Russian airplane in Sinai.

The president said that the decision must be calibrated and “to the present day should be positive in the short and longer term.”

The attack on the Russian airplane in Sinai was the largest disaster in the history of Russian and Soviet aviation. On October 31, 2015, an A321 airliner crashed in Sinai, killing all 224 passengers onboard. FSB chief Alexander Bortnikov said the cause of the crash was a terrorist attack and that an improvised explosive device had been placed on board the aircraft.

Since then, Russian flights to Egypt were suspended on November 6 and then on November 14 flights of Egypt Air to Russia were also suspended.
