Terrorists enter Syria from Turkey (Syrian TV)

Terrorists are crossing into Syria from Turkey, Syria's state news agency SANA said Saturday, releasing a video footage proving its claims.

The 20-second video, taken from what appeared to be Satellite images, showed a number of vehicles entering a sub-route surrounded by thick trees, likely a wood in northern Syria.

"Terrorists are crossing border from Turkey into Syria," said SANA, with no further details.

The video came amid the high tension in northern Syria, while the Turkish forces were said to have shelled the YPG positions near Syria's al-Qamishli province on Saturday.

Russia's Defense Ministry said Saturday that Turkey continues to shell Kurdish forces in Syria, hampering their operations against the al-Qaida-linked Nusra Front, and funneling supplies to the militant-controlled areas at the border.

  • In a statement released Saturday, the YPG said "Turkish army shelled our positions seven times during February."

Turkish attacks with heavy artillery also affected civilians, leaving two dead, according to the statement.

The Kurds, the Syrian government and Russia have been accusing Turkey of supporting the Nusra Front, which is excluded, along with the Islamic State (IS), from the ongoing truce in Syria.
