The Greek authorities began to evacuate one of the largest makeshift refugee camps – camp idomeni, located on the border with FYROM [*]. Residents idomeni distributed by specially set up for refugees in multiple camps, reports the BBC.
Evacuation is controlled by a large force of police, however, have not yet received reports of police use of force.
In the camp of the idomeni population of about 8.5 thousand migrants, mostly from Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan. According to police, the evacuation will take days.
Despite the difficult living conditions in the camp idomeni, most of the residents of the camp refused to move to other, more well-appointed camps, because they did not want to leave even further from the border.
