The defense Ministry blames on the crew of the USS Gravely in a dangerous rapprochement with the Russian patrol ship (SKR) «Yaroslav the Wise», which occurred on 17 June in the Mediterranean sea, and the information was made public on Tuesday, June 28.

«In Eastern Mediterranean sea USS Gravely made a hazardous rapprochement with the Russian warship at a distance of 60-70 meters on the left side and crossed the course of the movement of the TFR «Yaroslav the Wise» on the nose at a dangerous distance of 180 meters», – stated in the press release of the defense Ministry.

Russian warship «followed in international waters a constant course and speed and any dangerous manoeuvre against the American ship was not carried out», noted in the Department.

The defense Ministry drew the attention of the Pentagon to the gross violation of the commander and crew of Gravely international rules for preventing collisions and bilateral agreements 1972.
