The number of refugees worldwide reached a record 65 million people

According to the UN, by the end of 2015 65,3 million people became refugees, asylum seekers or were forced to find another place to stay in the country, reports the BBC.

This is 5 million more than in 2015. It is reported that this figure means that a refugee becomes one of the 113 people on the planet.

More than half of the 65 millions of refugees come from just three countries: Afghanistan, Syria and Somalia.

Thus, according to the UN, 86% of refugees received asylum in countries with low or middle income.

The largest number of refugees (2.5 million) had to make a Turkey. It is followed by Pakistan and Lebanon.

According to the International organization for migrants (IOM), last year to Europe by sea arrived over 1.011.700 migrants. However, other organizations believe that the number is much higher.

Overland to Europe arrived, according to IOM, about 35 thousand people.
