The state Department has removed the video confession of lying about Iran talks

The U.S. state Department scandal: an unidentified official was ordered to delete part of a video briefing press Secretary, effectively confirmed that the Agency lied about the negotiations with Iran.

The incident relates to secret negotiations with Tehran on its nuclear program prior to the conclusion of the preliminary agreement. In one of the briefings in February 2013, Victoria Nuland, who was at that time the post of state Department spokesman, said that the U.S. government does not conduct secret negotiations with the Iranian regime.

  • Then, when the fact of the contacts became known, a successor Nuland the post U.S. Department of state spokesperson Jennifer Psaki said, responding to a question about whether lied to the state Department about the contacts with Iran that diplomacy is sometimes required to preserve secrecy for the success of his mission, and this is a great example of such actions.

CNN reports that the video was later subjected to editing. First, the state Department claimed to have been a coincidence, but John Kirby, currently became the press Secretary of the Ministry, acknowledged that «an unknown officer» ordered to edit the record and remove the evidence of deception.

Secretary of state John Kerry quickly said that he had been ordered to find the responsible, and hinted that he intends to fire this person. Psaki said that the video was edited without her knowledge. Nuland to this day insists that at that time she was not informed about the secret negotiations with Iran.
