Suspended Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff will skip the opening ceremonies to the Rio Summer Olympics next week.
Rousseff refuses to sit next to the interim president, Michel Temer, said a spokesperson. Previous president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, will also skip the ceremony despite his role in bringing the games to Rio d Janeiro, because of animosity between he and Temer.
The president is in the middle of a scandal over whether she mishandled government money in 2015, attempting to make a budget deficit appear a surplus. Rousseff has said Temer has framed her to get her job.
Rousseff has until the impeachment trial at the end of August to hold on to her presidency.
Silva is also facing allegations of corruption.
Former President Fernando Henrique Cardoso, will also be not be at the opening ceremony.
