A soldier was killed on Monday along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir`s Kupwara district when the army battled guerrillas who tried to sneak in from Pakistan.
Defence ministry sources told IANS here that a group of heavily armed terrorists tried to breach the Line of Control (LoC) to sneak into India in Keran sector, triggering a fierce battle.
"A soldier has been martyred in the ongoing operation," an official said. "The infiltration bid has been foiled."
