German Chancellor Angela Merkel said during a campaign event that «the wave of terror in Germany is not the result of waves of refugees, according to Reuters.
According to Merkel, «the terror of the «Islamic state» has not been generated by the refugees, and Islam, acting within the framework of the Constitution, remains part of Germany.»
Merkel said that a large number of people travel from Germany to Syria to gain experience in an environment of terrorists. «This group concerns us for several years,» added the German Chancellor. According to estimates by German authorities, the number of members is not less than 800 people.
