Poland in Talks With Australia on Coal Supplies to Abandon Russian, Prime Minister Says

Poland is holding negotiations with Australia on the supply of coal to abandon the deliveries from Russia, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said on Wednesday.

Poland is strongly in favour of the most severe sanctions possible against Russia and part of the package of sanctions should be a blockade of various kinds of hydrocarbons from Russia, including oil, gas and coal, the prime minister said after meeting with the President of the European Council Charles Michel.

"I talked about this today with Prime Minister of Australia [Scott Morrison] to transport coal from there to Poland", Morawiecki said.

The prime minister added that he once again appealed to the European Commission to decide on an embargo on Russian coal.
