Mykolaiv hit by ‘powerful explosions’: Mayor

The mayor of the port city of Mykolaiv has reported ten “powerful explosions”, asking all residents to stay in shelters.

“About 10 powerful explosions thundered in Mykolaiv…. The air alert continues! I ask everyone not to ignore the safety rules! I will let you know more information later!,” Alexander Senkevich wrote on Telegram in the early hours of Friday morning.

Mykolaiv has been shelled for days, with missiles striking a hotel and two universities, and injuring at least a dozen people over the last week, officials have said.
