The West wants to provide assistance to Ukraine "for decades." This was stated by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz at the opening of an international conference on the restoration of Ukraine.
The German chancellor pointed to the need to discuss "what the future of Ukraine should be and how it should be financed."
According to Scholz, this is not a donor conference, but "nothing more than the creation of a new Marshall Plan for the 21st century."
He called EU support for Kyiv "the right geopolitical decision", once again assuring that the West would provide assistance to Ukraine as much as needed.
Earlier, Scholz and the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, called for the development of a new Marshall Plan for the restoration of Ukraine and the formation of a platform for coordinating assistance.
Tthe Marshall Plan is called the program of assistance to European countries after World War II, which was proposed in 1947 by US Secretary of State George Marshall.
