3 dead, four injured in Paris shooting, 69-year-old pensioner started shooting at people

 

 At least 3 people have died in a shooting in the 10th arrondissement of Paris, which was opened by an elderly man. Such data is provided by the LCI channel.

So far, six casualties have been reported.

According to the channel, several more people were injured, but their exact number is not given.

The police clarified that a 69-year-old pensioner started shooting at people. It was originally reported that he was 60 years old.

2.  A shooter killed two people and wounded four others in a gun attack near a Kurdish cultural centre in Paris on Friday, the prosecutor's office said.

Multiple gunshots were fired in the Rue d'Enghien, a street lined with small shops and cafes in the capital's 10th arrondissement, sowing panic. Armed police guarded a security cordon and several ambulances were at the scene, live television images showed.

"A gun attack has taken place. Thank you to the security forces for their swift action," tweeted deputy Mayor Emmanuel Gregoire. "Thoughts for the victims and those who witnessed this drama."

An investigation into murder, manslaughter and aggravated violence has been opened, the Paris prosecutor's office said.

3. A gunman opened fire on a Kurdish cultural centre and nearby Kurdish cafe in central Paris on Friday, killing three people and wounding three others, and prosecutors said they were looking into a possible racist motive for the attack.

Le Monde has learned that the three people killed were Kurdish activists. They were killed Ahmet-Kaya Kurdish cultural center. Agit Polat, a spokesperson for the Ahmet-Kaya Kurdish cultural center, said: "Once more, French authorities were unable to protect us," in reference to an attack in January 2013 that killed three Kurds. "For us, this is a terrorist attack. It takes place in a climate of tension knowingly fed by Turkey."
