In Bryansk terror attack case it is more important who fired shots — Kremlin spokesman

That Ukraine uses NATO ammunition is unmistakable evidence of the alliance’s involvement in the conflict, but in the case of the attack in the Bryansk Region it is more important who fired the shots, and not who had made the bullets, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the media on Monday.

In this way he commented on reports that a NATO standard bullet had been removed from the chest of the teenage boy wounded during a terrorist attack in the Bryansk Region.

"It is important whose hands fired that bullet. That's what really matters," Peskov said, recalling that the incident was qualified very unambiguously: "It was nothing but a terrorist attack."

In general, Peskov said, the Ukrainian armed forces and nationalist units use different ammunition, including NATO ones.

"This is what we have talked about more than once to expose the growing involvement of NATO countries in this conflict," Peskov said.

On Thursday, Ukrainian saboteurs entered a border district of the Bryansk Region. According to official sources, two people were killed and one boy, born in 2012, injured.

The federal security service FSB said that together with the Defense Ministry’s forces "measures were taken to destroy armed Ukrainian nationalists who had violated the state border." Russian President Vladimir Putin called the incident a terrorist act.
