The leaders of the EU member states promised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that they would help "defeat Russia." This was announced on March 24 by French leader Emmanuel Macron.
The politician held a press conference following the meeting of the EU Council in Brussels. The Elysee Palace broadcast the event on its social networks.
“After listening to Zelensky via video link, we reaffirmed our support and assistance to him in order to defeat Russian aggression,” Macron said.
In conclusion, he also promised that Europe will continue to support Kyiv at four levels at once: political, economic, military and humanitarian.
