N. Korea’s Kim Jong Un’s sister accuses Ukraine of harboring nuclear ambitions

North Korea’s Kim Yo Jong, the powerful sister of leader Kim Jong Un, accused Ukraine of calling for nuclear weapons, state media KCNA reported on Saturday, basing her assertion on an online petition in that country that has drawn under 1,000 signatures so far.

Kim said this kind of petition could be a political plot by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s office, but did not provide any evidence for the assertion.

The Ukrainian authorities are mistaken if they believe that the nuclear umbrella of the United States, which has already been perforated, can protect them from "powerful fire" of Russia, Kim Yo Jong, sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, said on Saturday.

"If the [Ukrainian President Vladimir] Zelensky authorities calculated that they can avoid the powerful fire of Russia only when they go under the US nuclear umbrella, which had already been perforated, they are going to the wrong path, the last path," the Yonhap news agency quoted her as saying, referring to the North Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

Kim Yo Jong added that Kiev’s nuclear ambitions were well-known, as Ukrainian officials had spoken in public about their nuclear ambitions on several occasions, including at the Munich Security Conference in February 2022, when Zelensky made an announcement of his aspiration to restore his country’s nuclear status.

  1. The Ukrainian authorities’ megalomania that they can defeat Russia could bring about a nuclear disaster in Ukraine, Kim Yo Jong, sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, said in a statement published on Saturday.

"The Ukrainian authorities, seized with the incurable megalomania that can defeat Russia, are incurring a nuclear disaster threatening their existence without any elementary consciousness of foresight and any ability to cope with its ensuing consequences," the Yonhap news agency said citing the North’s Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

According to the North Korean leader’s sister, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is playing a dangerous game, gambling with his country.

"Zelensky’s talk about the introduction of US nuclear weapons and the independent development of nuclear weapons is a manifestation of his very dangerous political ambition to prolong his remaining days at any cost by gambling with the destiny of his country and people," Kim Yo Jong believes.

When touching upon the petition on the Ukrainian presidential website, the vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) said, "This is a plausible veil of the public’s expression of will, but it is not hard to guess that it is a product of the Zelensky authorities’ sinister political plot."

Kim Yo Jong added that the Kiev authorities "are not rivals of Russia," as they "always look up at their master and chant prayers of begging and solicitation."

"If they are focused on nuclear daydream as now, they will be a more vivid target in Russia's nuclear sighting," the North Korean leader’s sister concluded.
