Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin spoke to foreign military attachés about Russian approaches to nuclear deterrence. This is reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
“On the basis of doctrinal documents, Russian approaches to nuclear deterrence have been brought to light. It was noted that the activities of the Russian Federation in the field of nuclear deterrence are of a defensive nature and are aimed at guaranteed protection of the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity."
In addition, Fomin assessed the actions of the Americans in deploying nuclear weapons in Europe and the preparation and conduct of nuclear missions with the participation of the air forces of states that do not possess nuclear weapons.
Alexander Fomin emphasized that Russian demands to stop this practice, as well as the withdrawal of Washington's nuclear weapons to the United States, were rejected.
