“The decision of the NATO Council at the level of the foreign ministers to suspend cooperation with Russia both on military and civilian aspects creates an effect of ‘deja vu’,” the diplomat said.
“The wording of the statement rather reminds us of verbal sparring of the Cold War times, while the decision itself brings us six years back, when Brussels ‘froze’ the work of the Russia-NATO Council,” Lukashevich added.
“It is well known how this ‘freeze’ ended up. NATO initiated a return to cooperation with Russia, stating an ‘all-weather nature’ of cooperation within the framework of the Russia-NATO Council,” he said.
“It is not difficult to imagine who will gain today from suspension of Russia-NATO joint work against modern threats and challenges to international and European security, in particular in such areas as fight against terrorism, piracy, natural and man-made disasters,” the spokesman added. “In any case, surely it won’t be Russia or NATO member countries,” Lukashevich said.

Решение Совета НАТО на уровне министров иностранных дел приостановить

«дежавю». Язык заявления скорее напоминает словесные пикировки эпохи
«холодной войны». А само решение возвращает нас к событиям шестилетней
давности, когда Брюссель заморозил работу Совета Россия - НАТО. Чем эта
«заморозка» закончилась, хорошо известно. НАТО по своей же инициативе
вернулось к взаимодействию с Россией, констатировав «всепогодный
характер» сотрудничества в рамках СРН.
Нетрудно себе представить,
кто выиграет сегодня от свертывания совместной работы России и НАТО по
противодействию современным угрозам и вызовам международной и
европейской безопасности, в частности в таких областях, как борьба с
терроризмом, пиратством, природными и техногенными катастрофами.
В любом случае, это будут точно не Россия и не страны - члены НАТО.

ReplyDeleteBRUSSELS - Further Russian intervention in Ukraine, following its annexation of Crimea, would be an "historic mistake" that would deepen Russia's international isolation, NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said on Wednesday.
"If Russia were to intervene further in Ukraine, I wouldn't hesitate to call it an historic mistake. That would lead to further international isolation of Russia. It would have far reaching consequences for the relations between Russia and ... the Western world. It would be a miscalculation with huge strategic implications," he told a news conference after a meeting of alliance foreign ministers.

ReplyDeleteLes décisions de la réunion ministérielle du Conseil de l'OTAN et de la Commission Ukraine-OTAN nuisent au dialogue inter-ukrainien, a déclaré le chef de la diplomatie russe Sergueï Lavrov lors d'une conversation téléphonique avec son homologue américain John Kerry.
« La partie russe a souligné la nécessité d'intensifier les efforts conjoints pour engager un vaste dialogue inter-ukrainien et ce afin de promouvoir une entente nationale capable de satisfaire l'ensemble des régions. [Moscou] s'inquiète des décisions adoptées lors de la réunion ministérielle du Conseil de l'OTAN et de la Commission Ukraine-OTAN, ces dernières ne contribuant pas à la réalisation de cette tâche », lit-on dans une déclaration publiée sur le site du ministère russe des Affaires étrangères.
Lors de la conversation téléphonique en question, les chefs de la diplomatie des deux pays ont poursuivi leur discussion sur les possibilités de surmonter la crise politique ukrainienne.
« John Kerry a réitéré son engagement à apaiser la rhétorique et à poursuivre la recherche d'approches conciliées du règlement politique de la crise en Ukraine », a indiqué la source avant de conclure que MM.
