The Kremlin recognizes the European Union’s right to sue Russia at the World Trade Organization (WTO) over sanctions. However, Russia can present its counter arguments, Russian president’s spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Monday.
“The WTO has a set of measures and instruments which every member state can certainly use. But other countries have the right to present arguments,” Peskov told journalists, adding the practice was in full compliance with international law.
Peskov found it hard to say how probable it was that the European Union would file a lawsuit against Russia.

ReplyDelete“Countries that impose sanctions against Russia can hardly be called good partners,” the minister said.
Kiev’s counter-terrorism operation in Ukraine creates the impression that its main purpose is to force the Russians out, Lavrov noted.
All possible pretexts for not providing humanitarian aid to Ukraine have been removed, and all details have been agreed with Kiev, the foreign minister added. Lavrov said he was hopeful that Western partners would not slow down the preparation of humanitarian aid to Ukraine. In his opinion, Western leaders’ reluctance to see the need for humanitarian assistance to Ukraine is “a flagrant manifestation of cynicism”.
