Sept navires et un sous-marin de six pays membres de l'Otan ont mené des manœuvres en mer Noire, a annoncé mardi le Commandement naval de l'Alliance.
"Les navires du 2e Groupe maritime permanent de l'Otan ont achevé des manœuvres conjointes avec la participation de bâtiments de guerre turcs en mer Noire. Le groupe naval se trouve en mer Noire en vue de montrer à nos alliés de la région que l'Alliance est prête à respecter ses engagements en matière de défense collective", a indiqué le Commandement.
La Russie a qualifié les exercices de l'Otan de provocation. „Nato-Schiffe der Zweiten ständigen Seekriegsgruppe haben gemeinsame Manöver unter Teilnahme der Seestreitkräfte der Türkei im Schwarzen Meer abgeschlossen. Die Schiffsgruppe hält sich im Schwarzen Meer auf, um unseren regionalen Bündnispartnern zu versichern, dass die Allianz zur Erfüllung ihrer Verpflichtungen bei der Gesamtverteidigung bereit ist“, heißt es in der Pressemitteilung.
Der Schiffsverband unter Führung von US-Konteradmiral Brad Williamson war am 4. März ins Schwarze Meer eingelaufen.
