Washington Finally Trying to Jump on Russia's Jet to Syria (from dualism to dichotomy)

Observing the discussions in Vienna to discuss regulation of the Syrian crisis, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova shared her impression that the White House is finally sensing the need for decisive multilateral action to resolve the conflict.

The two tendencies of the US government's approach to international relations were on show for Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on Friday, who shared her observations from the Vienna meeting on Syria with her Facebook followers.

"I can discern a distinct tendency regarding the US approach to international relations: from dualism to dichotomy," the spokeswoman wrote.

  • "On the one hand, they tell the whole world every day that 'Russia is very seriously isolated' (due to those same White House announcements)."

"On the other hand, they are trying by all possible means to jump on the wing of the Russian fighter jet, flying into the Syrian distance."

Earlier this month, US President Barack Obama claimed that "Iran and Assad make up Mr. Putin’s coalition at the moment," and that "the rest of the world makes up ours."

However, despite such announcements, which seem to have the intention of isolating Russia, relations in Vienna seemed more constructive, said Zakharova.

"The American organizers seated Lavrov next to Kerry, who has already tried to whisper something to the 'Russian outcast,'" wrote Zakharova, noting the contrast of the meeting to much of the rhetoric emanating from the White House regarding Russia's policy on Syria.

Zakharova's Facebook post on Friday, noting that Kerry and Lavrov were seated together at the meeting.

"Nevertheless, it is necessary to jump on board – the doors to the information center in Baghdad are always open for everyone, including Washington," wrote Zakharova...................http://sptnkne.ws/Zcw
