The alert level of the terrorist threat has been raised to the highest level in the Belgian capital of Brussels, Prime Minister Charles Michel confirmed in his official Twitter account on Saturday.

The OCAM proposed that people in the capital avoid places with a high concentration of people, facilitate and enforce security checks and do not broadcast rumors.

The OCAM of Belgium last Tuesday raised the terror alert level to level 3 for the entire country, following numerous arrests in Brussels as part of the investigation into the Paris attacks, which left more than 100 people killed and many others injured.

Level 3, a threat "possible and probable", continues to apply to the rest of the country, it added.
