The head of the Federal office for the protection of the German Constitution (counterintelligence Germany) Hans-Georg Maassen in an interview with DPА said that about 340 known cases of attempted radical Islamists to recruit new followers among the refugees.
Maassen also recognized that, in reality, such attempts could be more.
According to Maassen’s, Islamists recruit new supporters in hostels for refugees. In this regard, law enforcement agencies began to cooperate more closely with the staff of these shelters to stop the actions of recruiters, reports TASS.
In turn, Deutsche Welle writes that the Minister of internal Affairs of Germany Thomas de Maiziere recommended that law enforcement authorities of the Federal States of Germany to increase the number of employees.
According to him, the decision was made to increase at least until the end of the current term of the convening of the Bundestag (September 2017) of the state of the Federal police and other security agencies to 4,600.
This de Maiziere said in an interview with the newspaper Bild am Sonntag published on Sunday, August 14.
