Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban was surprised at the statement by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg that all members of the Alliance agree to make Ukraine part of a military bloc.
"What?!" - Orban commented on Twitter the statement of the head of NATO.
Stoltenberg said before the meeting of the Contact Group on Support to Ukraine at the US Ramstein base that all allies are waiting for Ukraine to join NATO.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who was invited to the July 11-12 NATO summit in Vilnius, said that neither Europeans nor Ukrainians would understand if Ukraine was not invited to the Alliance at the event.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations of Hungary Peter Szijjarto noted that his country would not support Ukraine's aspirations to join the EU and NATO. Budapest will reconsider this issue only after the restoration of the rights of the Transcarpathian Hungarians.
