Zelensky offered Canada help in extinguishing forest fires

Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video message posted on his Telegram channel that Ukraine is ready to assist Canada in extinguishing forest fires, if necessary.

On Saturday, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau visited Kyiv, where he met with Zelensky.


"Large-scale forest fires, colossal natural losses, a threat to people. Ukraine is ready to help extinguish fires if Canada needs such international assistance," the President of Ukraine said.

 Wildfires have been raging across Canada for the past few weeks. They cover several regions of the country at once, more than 400 fires were recorded by Tuesday, more than 200 of them have not yet been controlled. The Canadian armed forces are involved in extinguishing the fire, on Tuesday the authorities announced the collection of funds to help victims of forest fires.
