Σύμφωνα με την ιαπωνική Ακτοφυλακή, οκτώ κινεζικά σκάφη ναυτικής επιτήρησης μπήκαν γύρω στις 08:00 το πρωί (02:00 ώρα Ελλάδας) στη ζώνη των 12 ναυτικών μιλίων που περιβάλλει αυτά τα νησιά της Ανατολικής Σινικής Θάλασσας, τα οποία διεκδικεί το Πεκίνο που τα ονομάζει Ντιαογιού.
Είναι η πρώτη φορά που τόσα επίσημα κινεζικά σκάφη εισέρχονται ταυτόχρονα στα χωρικά ύδατα αυτού του ακατοίκητου αρχιπελάγους από το Σεπτέμβριο, οπότε επιδεινώθηκε αυτή η εδαφική διένεξη.
Η ένταση ανάμεσα στο Πεκίνο και το Τόκιο ανέβηκε όταν η Ιαπωνία αγόρασε τρία απ' αυτά τα πέντε νησιά από τον ιάπωνα ιδιώτη ιδιοκτήτη τους. Έκτοτε η Κίνα στέλνει τακτικά πλοία, αλλά και αεροπλάνα στη ζώνη αυτή. Συνήθως παραμένουν μερικές ώρες πριν αποπλεύσουν. «Διαμαρτυρόμαστε έντονα στην Κίνα», αντέδρασε ο εκπρόσωπος της ιαπωνικής κυβέρνησης στη διάρκεια συνέντευξης Τύπου.
Ο Λινέζος πρεσβευτής στο Τόκιο κλήθηκε για να παραλάβει αυτή τη διαμαρτυρία.
Ένα ιαπωνικό εθνικιστικό κίνημα, το Γκανμπαρέ Νιπόν, ανακοίνωσε παράλληλα ότι έστειλε εννέα αλιευτικά σκάφη που μεταφέρουν 150 ανθρώπους στην περιοχή του αρχιπελάγους για να υποστηρίξει την ιαπωνική κυριαρχία επί των Σενκάκου.
Σύμφωνα με έναν υπεύθυνο αυτής της οργάνωσης, τα σκάφη αυτά μπορεί να φθάσουν στην περιοχή σήμερα.
Η άφιξη των κινεζικών κυβερνητικών πλοίων κοντά στα Σενκάκου συνέπεσε με μια μαζική επίσκεψη ιαπώνων κοινοβουλευτικών στον σιντοϊστικό μνημείο Γιασουκούνι στην καρδιά του Τόκιο.
Εκατόν εξήντα οκτώ κοινοβουλευτικοί μετέβησαν σ' αυτό τον τόπο λατρείας όπου τιμώνουται 2,5 εκατομμύρια ιάπωνες στρατιώτες που έπεσαν για την πατρίδα, μεταξύ των οποίων οι 14 Ιάπωνες που κρίθηκαν ένοχοι εγκλημάτων πολέμου από τους Συμμάχους μετά το Δεύτερο Παγκόσμιο Πόλεμο.
Αυτοί οι βουλευτές και γερουσιαστές ανήκουν σε διάφορα κινήματα, αλλά κυρίως στο κυβερνών συντηρητικό Φιλελεύθερο-Δημοκρατικό Κόμμα.
Πρόκειται για τη σημαντικότερη επίσκεψη που έχουν πραγματοποιήσει από το 1989 ιάπωνες κοινοβουλευτικοί στο Γιασουκούνι, το οποίο καταγγέλλεται από τους Κινέζους, αλλά και από τους Κορεάτες ως σύμβολο του μιλιταριστικού παρελθόντος της Ιαπωνίας.
Στο τέλος της περασμένης εβδομάδας, τρεις ιάπωνες υπουργοί, μεταξύ των οποίων ο αντιπρόεδρος της κυβέρνησης και υπουργός Οικονομικών Τάρο Άσο, επισκέφθηκαν το μνημείο αυτό, πράγμα που καταγγέλθηκε από το Πεκίνο και τη Σεούλ.
Τη Δευτέρα, η Νότια Κορέα αποφάσισε σε αντίποινα να ματαιώσει μια επίσκεψη στην Ιαπωνία του υπουργού Εξωτερικών της.
Ο Ιάπωνας πρωθυπουργός Σίνζο Άμπε απέφυγε από την πλευρά του να μεταβεί στο Γιασουκούνι, όμως την Κυριακή αφιέρωσε στο μνημείο ένα ξύλινο αντικείμενο που χρησιμοποιείται σε τελετές και αποκαλείται μασακάκι.

Prime minister Shinzo Abe on Tuesday vowed to “expel by force” any Chinese landing on disputed islands.
“We would take decisive action against any attempt to enter territorial waters and to land” on the islands, Abe told parliament in response to questions from lawmakers. “It would be natural for us to expel by force the Chinese if they were to make a landing.”
Abe made the remarks after eight Chinese government ships entered Japanese territorial waters near the islands on Tuesday, the most in a single day since Tokyo nationalised part of the archipelago, the Japanese government said.
Japan’s coast guard confirmed the vessels had entered waters near the East China Sea island chain, while the government’s top spokesman said the flotilla was a one-day record since Tokyo’s nationalisation in September.
Japan summoned the Chinese ambassador in protest.
The maritime surveillance ships entered the 12-nautical-mile zone off the Senkaku chain of islands, which China calls the Diaoyu, around 8 a.m., the Japan Coast Guard said in a statement.
State-owned Chinese ships have frequently spent time around the five disputed islands, also claimed by Taiwan, in recent months.
“It is extremely deplorable and unacceptable that Chinese government ships are repeatedly entering Japanese territorial waters. We have made a firm protest against China both in Beijing and Tokyo,” Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga told reporters.

Chinese fleet monitors Japanese ships around Diaoyu Islands .....

-- A fleet of Chinese marine surveillance ships on regular patrol duty found several Japanese ships in waters around the Diaoyu Islands on Tuesday, according to the State Oceanic Administration (SOA).
In a statement on its website, the SOA said after three Chinese ships spotted the Japanese ships in the waters surrounding the islands, the administration immediately ordered another five ships in the East China Sea to meet the three ships.
Organized in four formations, the eight Chinese ships monitored the Japanese ships from different angles, according to the statement.

S. Korea raps Japanese leaders for shrine visits......

Taïwan effectue des manoeuvres militaires au milieu de tensions sino-américaines grandissantes .....
ReplyDeleteTaïwan est en train de mener cette semaine des manoeuvres militaires à balles réelles et selon le scénario d’une attaque chinoise sur les îles Penghu de Taïwan. Cela s’inscrit dans le contexte de tensions grandissantes en Asie de l’Est. Celle-ci sont attisées par la stratégie américaine du « pivot vers l’Asie » viseant à contenir la Chine, ce qui inclut les récentes menaces de guerre américaines relatives au programme nucléaire de la Corée du Nord et des querelles au sujet des îles Senkaku/Diaoyu.
Ces exercices, étalés sur cinq jours et baptisés Han Kuang, servent à tester sur les îles qui sont situées dans le détroit de Taïwan entre le continent chinois et l’île de Taïwan, 145 différents types d’équipement, comme des frégates de la marine, des chars de l’armée et des missiles anti-navire et de défense aérienne.
La Chine pour sa part, a stationné des centaines de milliers de soldats sur certaines parties de son territoire le long du détroit de Taïwan, aux côtés de centaines d’avions de combat et d’un millier de missiles balistiques tactiques. Japan summons China envoy over disputed isles .....Japanese prime minister threatens force if China attempts to land on island chain in East China Sea......
ReplyDeleteJapan has summoned the Chinese ambassador in protest over a flotilla of Chinese government ships that entered territorial waters near a disputed island chain.
Japan's foreign ministry said on Tuesday it had called in the envoy after eight Chinese vessels entered waters near the Senkaku islands, which China calls Diaoyu, the most in a single day since Tokyo nationalised part of the archipelago in September.
The Chinese boats drove out a flotilla of 10 boats carrying about 80 Japanese activists from the nationalist Ganbare Nippon ("Stand Firm, Japan") group, which sailed into waters around the islets early on Tuesday.
They then began to withdraw from the area on the orders of Japanese Coast Guard patrol ships, when Chinese government surveillance ships came nearby.
"Our latest intelligence indicates that a large number of Chinese vessels have entered Japanese territorial waters," an unidentified coast guard member told the activists.
Japanese chief cabinet secretary Yoshihide Suga on Tuesday confirmed the incident. "Today there has been eight Chinese maritime surveillance vessels that have entered the Senkaku island area around Uotsuri Jima," he said.
China said the trip by Ganbare Nippon was "illegal" and "troublemaking," and a foreign ministry spokesman said the government has lodged an official protest with Japan.
'Under our active control'
Japanese Coast Guard vessels then escorted some of the fishing boats back to the the port of Ishigaki, where they originally departed from.
Ganbare Nippon had said the purpose of their trip was to survey fishing grounds. Last August, about 10 activists from the group landed on one of the islets.
Japanese and Chinese patrol ships have been playing a cat-and-mouse game near the Japanese-controlled East China Sea islands, where China is seeking to assert its claim to sovereignty by sending ships into the disputed waters.
Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe however said that it was Japan who was still fully in control of the island chain.
"The Senkaku islands are under our active control," he said when asked in parliament what he thought the status of the islands were.
"Since it has become the Abe government, we have made sure that if there an instance where there is an intrusion into our territory or it seems that there could be landing on the islands then we will deal will it strongly," Abe added.
The waters around the islets are rich fishing grounds and also have potentially huge oil and gas reserves.
The territorial dispute has escalated in recent months to the point where China and Japan have scrambled fighter jets while patrol ships shadow each other, raising fears that an unintended collision could lead to a broader clash.

ReplyDeleteΗ Ιαπωνία και η Κίνα συντονίζουν τώρα τη δυνατότητα των διαπραγματεύσεων σε επίπεδο εκπροσώπων των Υπουργείων Άμυνας των δύο χωρών σχετικά με την κατάσταση γύρω από τα αμφισβητούμενα νησιά Σενκάκου/Ντιαογού.
Αυτό ανακοίνωσε σήμερα ο Γενικός Γραμματέας του Υπουργικού Συμβουλίου της Ιαπωνίας Γιοσιχίντε Σούγκα.
Προς το παρον δεν έχουν ανακοινωθεί τα συγκεκριμένα χρονικά όρια των διαβουλεύσεων. Οι συνομιλίες, όπως είπε ο Γούγκα, θα επικεντρωθούν στην «πρόληψη των απρόβλεπτων καταστάσεων στα ύδατα γύρω από τα νησιά Σενκάκου». Ο Σούγκα έκανε αυτές τις δηλώσεις του στο φόντο της εμφάνισης την περασμένη Τρίτη 8 περιπολικών πλοίων της Κίνας στην περιοχή των νησιών, τα οποία και οι δύο χώρες θεωρούν δικό τους έδαφος.

ReplyDeleteLe chef d'état-major interarmées américain, le général Martin Dempsey, a assuré jeudi devant des soldats de la base aérienne américaine de Yokota, à l'ouest de Tokyo, que les Etats-Unis faisaient "tout pour dissuader la Corée du Nord de toute provocation". "Je peux vous garantir que nous sommes prêts avec nos alliés japonais à protéger nos citoyens et les leurs, nos installations et les leurs", a-t-il déclaré.
La veille, le plus haut gradé américain avait passé le même message – la défense du Japon – lors d'une escale à Pékin. Il avait fait part aux dirigeants chinois de la détermination de Washington à défendre son allié japonais alors que Pékin et Tokyo sont à couteaux tirés en raison d'un conflit territorial en mer de Chine orientale. Suite à l'incursion récente de huit navires gouvernementaux chinois dans les eaux territoriales d'îlots administrés par le Japon, les Senkaku, revendiqués par Pékin sous le nom de Diaoyu, le premier ministre japonais, Shinzo Abe, a averti que les autorités japonaises emploieraient si nécessaire la force pour déloger les Chinois en cas de débarquement.
Le 14 avril, le secrétaire d'Etat américain John Kerry, en visite au Japon, avait déjà prévenu que les Etats-Unis étaient "déterminés à défendre le Japon", après que la Corée du Nord eut menacé ce pays du feu nucléaire.
Jeudi, un haut responsable du ministère des affaires étrangères japonais a déclaré que la relation avec les Etats-Unis constituait pour le Japon "la plus importante priorité". Tokyo se réjouit "du rééquilibrage de la diplomatie américaine vers l'Asie. Nous avons besoin de l'engagement américain", a-t-il ajouté.

Des navires chinois croisent dans les eaux territoriales des Senkaku......
ReplyDeleteTrois navires gouvernementaux chinois sont entrés jeudi 23 mai dans les eaux territoriales d'îles disputées avec le Japon en mer de Chine orientale, ont indiqué les garde-côtes nippons. Ces bateaux de surveillance maritime ont pénétré vers 9 h 30 locales (2 h 30 à Paris) dans la zone de 12 milles marins (un peu plus de 22 km) entourant l'archipel des Senkaku, revendiqué avec force par Pékin sous le nom de Diaoyu.
La dernière incursion de ce type remonte au 5 mai. Fin avril, des navires gouvernementaux chinois avaient également croisé à plusieurs reprises autour de l'archipel, poussant le Japon à convoquer l'ambassadeur de Chine pour protester.
Pékin envoie régulièrement des navires, mais aussi ponctuellement des avions, depuis que l'Etat nippon a nationalisé en septembre trois des cinq îles de l'archipel en les achetant à leur propriétaire privé japonais. Cette initiative avait déclenché une semaine de manifestations anti-japonaises, dont certaines violentes, dans de nombreuses villes de Chine.
Face à ce regain de tensions, Tokyo a annoncé la constitution d'une force spéciale de 600 hommes et 12 navires pour surveiller et protéger les Senkaku, situées à 200 km au nord-est des côtes de Taïwan, qui les revendique également, et 400 km à l'ouest de l'île d'Okinawa (sud du Japon). Le premier ministre Shinzo Abe a prévenu en avril que le Japon repousserait "par la force" tout débarquement chinois sur les Senkaku.
Le 8 mai dernier, le Quotidien du Peuple, organe du Parti communiste chinois (PCC), avait par ailleurs publié une longue tribune signée par deux chercheurs de l'Académie des sciences sociales appelant à "reconsidérer le problème non résolu des Ryukyu", la chaîne d'îles de la préfecture d'Okinawa qui s'étend en arc au sud de l'archipel nippon en direction de Taïwan.
Okinawa, une île abritant des bases américaines, est normalement épargnée par l'actuelle dispute territoriale entre les deux voisins. A Tokyo, le secrétaire général du gouvernement Yoshihide Suga avait estimé que le texte du Quotidien du Peuple était "non pertinent".
