Greek PM addresses Chinese academics

-
Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras has given a speech at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. His speech topped the agenda of his China tour. He’s the first Greek Prime Minister to visit China since the two countries signed an agreement on developing a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2006.

Antonis Samaras started his speech by paying tribute to the proud history and civilization of both China and Greece before speaking frankly on the current economic difficulties in his home country. He expressed gratitude for China’s support since the onset of the Greek debt crisis and listed the economic advantages that Greece has to offer Chinese investors.

He said, "Now how does Greece coming into play? We would want Chinese companies to play an active role in that. We can team up together to shape up the major gateway between China and Europe."
