Ο ηγέτης της παράταξης « Πατρίδα», Αρσένι Γιατσενιούκ, το Σάββατο, σε συνέντευξή του στο Κίεβο, δήλωσε ότι τα στρατεύματα του Υπουργείου Εσωτερικών που σταθμεύουν στην Περιφέρεια Κιέβου, τέθηκαν σε πλήρη ετοιμότητα μάχης. Ο Γιατσενιούκ επιβεβαιώνει επίσης, ότι κατά την τελευταία εβδομάδα «όλα τα ιατρικά ιδρύματα στο Κίεβο και την Περιφέρεια Κιέβου έχουν λάβει εντολή να εξασφαλίσουν θαλάμους για σοβαρά τραυματίες και εγκαυματίες».
Στο μεταξύ, κοντά στον Ναό του Αγίου Μιχαήλ, στην πρωτεύουσα της Ουκρανίας, έχουν ήδη συγκεντρωθεί πάνω από 2.000 διαδηλωτές της «Ευρωπλατείας». Ακτιβιστές συνεχίζουν να προσέρχονται. Κάθε μία ώρα, οι συγκεντρωθέντες τραγουδούν τον ύμνο της Ουκρανίας - μεταδίδουν τα μέσα ενημέρωσης.
Στην περιοχή του Ναού βρίσκονται επίσης Βουλευτές και μεταξύ τους και η νικήτρια του διαγωνισμού της Eurovision 2004, τραγουδίστρια Ρουσλάνα.

ReplyDeleteLeader of the All Ukrainian Union "Fatherland" Arseniy Yatsenyuk said that the opposition demands the immediate resignation of Interior Minister Vitaly Zakharchenko, the press service of the party said.
"We demand the resignation of this government and its minister who forced people to disperse from the peaceful pro-European demonstration”, said the press service of the “Fatherland”, quoting Yatsenuk.
According to the statement, the opposition believes that Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych is behind the incident when peaceful demonstrators were forced to disperse during the pro-European rally, and therefore, Yanukovich should resign.
Ukrainian’s who came out in support of European integration of the country were forced to disperse by the police on Friday night from the Independence Square in Kiev. According to reports, about 40 people were injured and 33 protesters were arrested in the crackdown.
