Belarus began checking the readiness of nuclear weapons carriers

Belarus has begun checking the readiness of forces and means of delivering tactical nuclear weapons.

This was reported in the official Telegram channel of the country's Ministry of Defense with reference to a statement by the First Deputy Minister of Defense of Belarus, Major General Viktor Gulevich.

According to Gulevich, as part of the inspection, part of the aviation forces and assets was relocated to an alternate airfield. He noted that after the relocation of technical personnel, the Armed Forces of Belarus will begin training for the use of non-strategic nuclear weapons.

 The Minister of Defense of the Republic, Viktor Khrenin, said that divisions of the Iskander complex and a squadron of Su-25 aircraft will work during this sudden check. According to him, during the event the entire complex will be tested, including the planning, preparation and use of tactical nuclear weapons.

Earlier, the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces stated that during the exercises of the Southern Military District with the involvement of aviation and naval forces, the use of non-strategic nuclear weapons will be practiced.
